Hey everybody. I just figured I'd post up my second knife that I'm working on. Did pretty much all of the filing today, maybe I'll do a little more here and there a bit later but it's for the most part finished. Figured I'd show you guys and get your thoughts, criticisms, suggestions, or just a pat on the back it's all good by me. If you have seen my first knife, I would say this one is a big improvement. I colored the flats with blue sharpie just to make it easier to see the grind, and I worry that both sides might not be quite the same so I'd like your thoughts on that.

That said, here's pictures.

Thanks for any input guys.

A very clean, simple and functional design - no eye candy. Thanks for posting.

It looks like a nice functional design. I would get a cheap caliper on amazon or somewhere so you can know how thick your edge is pre heat treat. I'm guessing it's pretty thick, especially around the plunge. Try to get it around .040 if it's carbon steel. A little thicker is probably OK. I think some makers take their high carbon as low as .020-.030 pre heat treat.

It's amazing the difference that 10-20 thousandths of an inch can make when it comes to cutting and how the secondary bevel looks.

Haha! Futz looks like it coming along... Nice to see you got away from Emeril youtube posts long enough to get some work done!

I was wondering if anyone would get that! :D Bam!

Great job FB!
