Much has been made of whether this post should have been here or in general discussion. It occurred to me that if notice was all that was at issue, I could, no doubt, notify you myself.

For the record, I am still in the market for an EDC and am still considering a small sbenza as an alternative to a BM 705 or mini-griptillian if I can justify the price difference.

If you handle a small sebenza and handle a BM 705 or mini-grip you will understand the price difference.

About the post in the General Forum.... I'd have to file that under "who gives a sh*t". Life is too short to worry about petty crap like that.

Krefcenz - I have all three knives (well I have just sold the mini grip) and there is no comparison between the 3.

The sebenza is in all ways a superior product, as you would expect, but no allways get, in a knife that cost a multiple of the price.

If the mini grpi had had a round spyderco hole instead of the oval it would have been my favourite FRN handled knife I had ever owned but it is a cheap(ish) FRN handled knife and does not pretend to be anything else.

The 705 is no where near as ergonomic as a sebie, at least not in my hands and way too much kinfe sticks up above the clip to carry comfortably IWB and this also makes it show up big time if carried in your front pocket.

Other than for specific tasks (eg light weight for jogging with) I have not bought any other folders since I got my first sebenza six months or so ago.

I now have 2 and a third on order. I have been buying "quality knives" for over 10 years now to find my ideal EDC and have no stopped with CRK.

The best thing is to find a shop where you can handle all the knives you have in mind and take it from there.

I am not saying the the Sebenza is perfect but IMHO it is the best I have come across by quite a wide margin.

According to the Spyderco site is stands for "fiberglass reinforced nylon"

just think of it this way, if you buy a small sebenza, and carry it every day for 3 years, it will only cost you about $0.27 a day.

sure you can buy a benchmade and use that for the same amount of time, but i highly doubt you can send it back to benchmade and have it refurbished to look just like the day you got it. plus the fact that a sebenza is going to last MUCH longer then 3 years

ROTFLMAO

Man. . .I never thought of it that way ~ carry cost per day ("ccpd").

Superb idea ! :D :D

I just figured out the "ccpd" on my large regular that was Mayonized. . . A whoppin' $.32 per day ! Excellent ! ! :D :D

That's actually a great way to rationalize a quality knife! If I carry my current EDC (for the last two months) for three years its only .24 cents per day! Talk about a freakin bargain! :D

Where some people own an item of quality others who perhaps can't afford such items become curious or jealous towards such owners.

Typical post really.

Take Surefire torches for example, I am very happy with my Maglites. I don't use a torch enough to justify a Surefire light. I just find it hard to justify the price and find it even harder to understand why I need to spend 10-20x as much as my Maglite.

Sound familier?  :footinmou

LOL! If someone was to let me play with one, I may just get it!;)
