EDIT .. looks like $6.95 not a bad deal at all .. thanks again

Nice knives but I'm gonna hang tough and wait for the G10 with the satin finish plain edge. I'm not a fan of black blades.

I thought a G10 with the satin finish plain edge version Police model already came out? Wasn't there a small production run of these?

Me too. I was excited to see them in plain edge, but can't do the black finish. I hope for a plain edge stonewash with coyote brown G-10.

I'm a soldier stationed in Afghanistan. I deployed with a Buck Tarani Police knife (BU882) and finding a need to reverse the clip for left side carry. I was unsuccessful in removing the screws using my Torx bit set… none of them fits the screws. My hex set also don’t fit.

Any of you know what is the proper size /type bit to use? Also a source for the tool. I have a Brownell set but none of hte bits fits. I wish Buck would have included a wrench for this function with the knife. (Buck guys/gals... are you monitoring this net?)

I've written Buck, but snail mails will take up to three / four weeks. I've posted on another thread for an e-mail address. Any assist will be greatly appricated.

If the Strider Military Folder is anything like the Police model, I think I will order some for my personal use and as awards to my soldiers. Is the steel that much different to justify the difference in cost between my BU882 and theses models?

I think OD green is really cool! Goes well with my attire.

Comments? About the functionalities of the knives, not my taste in colors.

Respectfully,

I thought there was supposed to be a PE model with G10 handles and ATS-34 blade coming out. I could be wrong - not like it would be the first time. LOL

Should be a T-6 although the manufacturing guys change parts sometimes without telling me so it may be a T-5.

e-mail Jeff Hubbard at Buck he'll be able to let you know. He posts here as well.

I must have a out of spec set of screws on my knife. I've e-mailed Joe Houser and he posted the same info (T-6). In the interium, I'll just have to live with it... adapt, adjust...

All... thanks for the help.

Bob

Yep, I ordered one today. This one should be a great knife for the tough jobs.
Hope the blade coating holds up.
