Hi guys,

Found these custom made knives at a knife shop a few weeks back. Thought it would be interesting to share. It is a gerber with G-10 handles and no liners for about 28 bucks. It is a lockback but with no deploying mechanism.

How is that custom? Does the sticker mean that it's one of the American made Gerbers with good steel instead of "surgical stainless?"

The man behind the counter told me it was a "custom" though it is not those one of a kind customs. I suppose it is a "custom" in the sense it was custom made for some sort of charity. I do not believe that Gerber produced these.

I do not know about the knife steel specs nor did the man behind the counter.

The man behind the counter may not know a hill of beans.

I have had clerks at better sporting goods stores that feature quality knives not know jack about what they sell , hell I knew more than them about what they sold. One older guy even told me the blade was " made of G10 steel" - I am not making that up , I was too embarrassed for him to correct him.

Aside , the digicam looks pretty cool. They could be knock-offs from a certain socialist country... ;)

Well the knives I believe were originally real and made by Gerber (sorry I did not mean to say that Gerber did not produce these in my earlier post). Then they had the G-10 scale put on to be sold at a Marine Corps fundraiser.

Pretty sure the guy knows his stuff. I hear his store has been around for over half a century.
