g-10 endura vs. military

But it is a good mid size knife, I Have one, and I will keep it! But the Military is Number 1, Hands down.

G-10 endura is a good blade but I sold mine and got a LH millie, now I have one for each hand :)

I would think the endura would be slightly stronger due to the tip design, it would be harder to break off. But I wouldn't classify either of them as 'hard use'

I also believe the G-10 endura is more durable. The tip of the Mili always bothered me and I find myself being overly careful not to place too much pressure on the tip.

Also, I love back/mid locks more so than a liner lock, though the Mili's is very well executed.

VG10/S30V, ah don't see any real world difference between them. Can get VG10 to a razor edge more easily the S30V, though they are both relatively easy to sharpen.

The Mili's G-10 handles are a little too big for me. And lastly, the G10 Endura has full stainless liners whereas the Mili has partial liners.

If heft is any sign, the G10 Endura is probably more durable than a Millie. Agree on what seems to be a stronger point. Don't know about the pivot, though. And the thinner blade stock...

I got the G10 Endura and Delica out of my love for G10 and FFG blades, and they sure are fine pocket knives, but I still like my Millies a lot more.

(One way to really upgrade the G10 Endura would be to have it FULLY SERRATED and in S90V or 440V!)

Endura tip is generally stronger. Unless you get the FFG one.
Overall the Military feels tougher of a folder, to me. Also the Millie feels way more ergonomic and is a better cutter.

The millie feels good in hand, but the edura feels better in my pocket. I guess i'm been using a delicas and endura for over 10 years that liner-lock feel awkward.

I think Vinny is correct on all points! g

I would be very hard pressed to imagine a situation that would demonstrate that one knife is 'tougher' than the other. Anyone with a Millie can tell you that you can wail away on that handle till the cows come home and she won't break. As well, you aren't going to be able to torque that liner lock loose either. I will concede that the tip on the non-flatgrind Endura is more robust than the pointier tip on the Millie, but unless you pry with the Millie's tip, there is little chance of it breaking.

is the g-10 endura just as durable as a military?

The G10 Endura has a 3mm flat ground blade of VG10, whereas the Military has a 4mm flat ground blade of S30V. I'd have to give the nod to the Military unless you're only concerned about the extreme tip which you could always grind back if you broke it.

I'd think the steel frame "G10" Endura would be more durable than the G-10 slabbed Military, but I think you'd have to go in the lab and test them to be sure. The G-10 slabs might surprise you.

The open frame design Military would be a lot easier to inspect and clean.

I think the big question is which fits in your hand and EDC pocket better.

Does the endura's g-10 handle make it stronger than the FRN handle or is is it the full flat grind of the blade?

Both the FRN and G10 are both strong, but I would give the edge to G10. The G10 Endura is FFG VG-10. Because of the slightly shorter 3.75" blade the tip does not appear to be as fragile as the Military, at least too me. This even though the blade stock on the Military is thicker (5/32" or 4 mm) and the Endura is 1/8" (3.2 mm).

Both are super knives and you really can't go wrong with either one.

Here are some pics just for kicks. Common theme is FG G10 handles.

Note that this D2 Millie has had the backspacer removed and the clip polished. My other D2 is standard.

Blade beauty, D2 and VG10.

Thrown in are a G10 Delica and a UKPK Drop Point.

To be quite honest, the Endura feels heavier than the Millie.
