Does the g-10 weaken the overall strength of the sebenza?thinking about doing it to lg reg . thx. Tommy

The tensile strength of 6Al-4V Titanium is greater than G10's. I don't have impact data on G10, but my gut feeling is that G10 is tougher than 6Al-4V Ti.

G10 does have the advantage of being lighter, and grippier if textured properly.

In a knife handle you will never test G-10 to its maximum.

A few makers use Ti/G-10 handles for their knives and many people
have done the same mod and they are all just fine

thanks guys for all of the input.does anybody know who i could send it to to have the work done? i'm even considering carbon fiber.

I dont know for sure about strength, but it seems like the Busse folks use that G10 quite a bit. Their steel is supposed to be outstanding, so I would think their handle material choices would be of quality. That is totally just my thinking as I dont know enough about it.

You could try "STR" who has his own forum here, there is also a guy called "Barry H" who posts pics of custom scales for Sebs so maybe he can sort you out.

For material specs you can always check out matweb dot com. Having worked with G10 more than I care to admit- you will be fine. I would trust it to hold my mother in law on a 1/4 in strip over a VERY deep canyon! But I am biased on the last point.
