I have recently received a new knife (Bark River STS4) and it has G 10 handles. They are a little to slick/slippery for my taste. Does anybody have any thoughts on how to give them a little more texture?

If you have access to a buffing wheel and 600 grit compound it will do the trick in a hurry. Otherwise some sand paper, an even touch, and a little bit of time should do.

Keep in mind that G10 is a glass impregnated composite. Removing material from it should be done in gloves, long sleeves, and a well ventilated or a vacuum on the work piece.

I think working on G10 has been worse than working with insulation, at least with insulation you can use duct tape to get rid of it rather easily...

Another method is to use a Dremel or an aggressive file and either cut facets or grooves, or dimple the material (Dremel only). G10 will "polish" with pocket wear and become slicker over time. Cutting facets or dimpling increases the overall grip factor even as the material gets smoother.
