hello Mr. Glesser, i have this knife on order, and would like to know a couple of things, is the pivot adjustable, and also, my main concern, does this model have a liner for the clip screws to go into, or just g-10 which will most likely strip. Oh, and also, overall is this knife solid, this will be my everyday carry self-defense/box opener knife.
THANKS A MILLION.

New G-10 Harpies have the stainless steel liner and pivot pin is not adjustable. I've carried one of the older non-lined G-10s everyday for over a year and a half now and have jad no problems with the clip screws stripping out. Great everyday knife.

Rage - Mike is correct. Mike is correct. Mike is correct. Mike is correct. (sorry Mike, couldn't resist).

All in all it is a very nice piece. One of my personal favorites (although the Harpy / Merlin style of Hawkbill was really not designed as a defense model). It is quite solid in the hand. Unfortunaely, the Stainless version won out for Y2K production and the G10 version probably won't be available after the end of '99. Enjoy yours. I enjoy mine.

I really like my Harpy. I took the pocket clip out since I really don't like clips on smaller knives. Stand by for a sharp cutting instrument. Very practical especially if you require a box opener or if you're like me and hate those annoying blister packs that everything comes in now. The Harpy's blade just slices through those things like butter on a hot day. Great back up knife, though I always have a "regular" folder with me when I carry mine. The tip of the Harpy does make it easier to do straight cutting but a straight blade is easier.
