Can anyone give us some material characteristics of the:

G-10

&

GV6H

Handle Material?

thanks,
William R

GV6H is a molded thermoplastic material similar to Zytel. Unlike Zytel, GV6H has a high fiberglass content which makes it a strong yet very lightweight material. It is virtually indestructable and highly resistant to scratches, scuffs, and dings. Like Zytel, GV6H can be molded into any shape or contour desired. It is also a more dense and stiffer material than Zytel.

G-10 is comprised of layers of fiberglass cloth that are bonded together with a phoenolic resin. This yields a lightweight and very strong handle material. G-10 is also used in the eletronics industry as circuitboard material. G-10 is resistant to most known liquids including oil and gasoline. Like GV6H, G-10 is highly resistant to wear and abuse, which makes it a great candidate for knife handles. You can even lightly bead blast G-10 to raise a texture on the surface which also helps to achieve a secure grip. Primarily available in black, G-10 also comes in red, blue, tan, and green (there maybe other colors I am not aware of). As opposed to GV6H, G-10 comes in large sheets and can be cut and milled to desired size and shape. This material is also dieeletric.

That's about it. Next question? :D
