Hi everyone,

love my rc-3,4,6
My only complaint is I find my rc-4 in g-10 a little slippery when wet, has anyone done any minor mod's or sanding to increase grip without drastically altering the scales.

any info would be appreciated.

Odd. I've used my g-10 RC-3 in the kitchen and while dressing out game. I've always found the grip extremely secure, even wet or bloody. Anyway, protect yourself from the dust if you're going to do any sanding.

If you want a temp fix you can always stretch a piece of cable heat shrink over the handle and hit it with a hair dryer.
You can always cut it off later but it will keep your knife from ever slipping when wet.

I hadn't noticed it was slippery either.... Will have to get the new RP knife all soaked and trying it out this evening...

That is a great idea, dipping the handle in tool grip may be a good option for you as well.

I've tried the Plasti-dip before and it wears out a little fast for me. Then again, you can recoat a hundred times with one can of it.
I generally only heat shrink my wood handled knives. I haven't experienced too much slippage with my G10 /G11 scales.

I wrap my more "slippery" knives, especially the hunting ones, with hockey tape. It provides a decent grip and lasts a long time. It does take away from any beauty the knife slabs may have, but great from a utility purpose.

One of the BEST solutions I've found for non-slip mods is McNett Camo Form.
Ive used this stuff on gun stocks, turkey guns, binos and knife-handles. It comes in 2" wd. x 144" rolls in all military and civy camo patterns as well as black (my personal favorite) It's self-clinging waterproof and conforms easily to irregular shapes, is easily removed and can be re-used. Great stuff!!

The other solution is to put a little more muscle in your forearm and get a stronger and tighter grip ! ;-D
I often sand my G10 handles... Go figure !
Or with a rat tail file you can texture it in3D...

I found the grip very secure, even when wet. In fact, I like the handles better now then when I first got them. They seem a deeper orange from the oils in my hands.

Take a Dremel and texturize it. I have done several knives that way for better grip.
