G-10 texture on Cold Steel knives

I just got a Cold Steel American Lawman and Mini-Lawman. The American Lawman is to big to carry in my pocket but the Mini-Lawman is fine. However the texture on the handles is so great for using the knife but makes it almost impossible to use the clip. Far too difficult to remove or clip in my pocket. I bent the clip out away from the handle and it works ok. What I'd like to know is has anyone ever used anything (like resin) to fill in the texture right under where the clip meets the handle to make it smooth? I don't want to sand the G-10 but if I could use something just to make a smooth surface I may try that. I though epoxy might work. What I would really love is somthing temporary but I can't even come close to any ideas like that. Any help is appreciated.

I will carry it on my belt in a small pouch with no problem. That way I'll just remove the clip which makes any knife a little more comfortable to use.

Remove the clip. Sand the area. Install the clip. Thats it. 3 minutes. Forget the filler.

You can see it here, but its really not that apparent in person. Or you can sand the entire knife for a uniform appearance.

Hello, some time ago I saw a (new) cold steel Recon 1 review, and he did the filling thing with the handle, but now i cant find the video. Look a recoon 1 review by cutlerylover in youtube (absolutly recomended knives channel), he talks about the pocketclips and g10, I made what he suggests in my recon 1 and works awsome. have a bice day!

I looked on cutlerylover's YT site but didn't find a video about filling in the handle. I sent him a message asking if he has done it, how he did it and how he liked it. The best option I can think of is to use some epoxy and build it up a little high then sand and polish it. I don't want to fill in anything other than what is under the clip so it wouldn't be obvious at all. I'm also hoping that if I do fill in the texture it looks good if I take the clip off allowing the spot to be visible. Right now I have the clip bent out so there is a space between the handle and clip of about 3/16". It works pretty good for jeans. I am carrying it now in a small nylon pouch on my belt and it is not even noticable that I'm carrying it. I may keep doing that because if I'm wearing clothes I would work in it looks ok. If I'm wearing nicer clothes I would carry a "prettier" knife anyway so the clip/G-10 tearing up my slacks pockets wouldn't be an issue.
