G-10 tips, anyone?

Okay. I started contouring the handles on my MadPoet kit last night. I decided to use G-10 in forest green because I had never used it before, and I like the looks of the "grain" pattern seen so often on customs in the magazines. Unfortunately, I am having considerable trouble getting the layers to show themselves, and the handle has a soft, cloudy sort of look to it, if that makes any sense. What are some tips to get the layers to show themselves better and to just sharpen up the contrast a bit?

G10 does not like to show its layers easily.

The only advice is to cut across the layers
at a shallow angle and polish after fine sanding. Don't expect the same layered effect that canvas micarta gives you, the layers in G10 are much thinner and closer together.
