I have a set of Wilkins G-11, translucent orange, Im having difficulty dying, for a friend. . Ive dyed G-10 before, no problem. RIT dye, a little vinegar, stove top, worked like a charm. This G-11 doesnt seem to want to take the color. Double concentrated, two packs of BLK, cooked for hours...Nothing,.. well slight darkening but...not really taking the dye, washes right off.
Questions:
Is G-11 composition that different than than G-10 where it would resist the dye that much more?
Is there a way to dye these scales more effectively than using RIT dye?
Thanks in advance for any advice/insight.
