I was gifted a beautiful custom knife with G. Anderson, Utah when I earned my Eagle scout award back in '96. I've read a little about Georgel Anderson and who he was as a person but I've never seen much regarding his knives. Can anyone help me here? As soon as I figure out how to post photos I'll upload some of it. Thanks!

He studied under Gil Hibben, and worked in 440c. He was active from around '67 - the early 2000's. He advertised in Blade a lot during the 90's, and his prices started very modest. For instance, his starting prices on a basic full tang hunter with brass guard were $20-30 more than a decent factory knife of the time, and his fancier stuff was just a little more than that.

You can definitely see the Hibben (and a little Randall) influence in a lot of his work. His prices have come up in the aftermarket, but are still relatively cheap all things considered.

Thanks for the information! It has a lot of sentimental value for me, so it's been mostly a safe queen. I feel terrible not using it more since from what I've heard of Anderson he made his knives to be functional hunters. I know I'd be absolutely sick if I ever dropped it in the woods though.

Sorry I'm late to the party. He was an excellent knife maker. The knife you have pictured looks like his Elk model. Should have a tooled elk head on the sheath if it is original sheath. His favorite steels when I ordered from him were 01 and A2. I told him to use either on my orders, so am still not sure what steel I have in his knives. I gave several as gifts to nephews, and one to my wife, a "Cottontail" small game knife. At that time, late 1980's, the Cottontail with rosewood handle was advertised for $48.00. Because of the quality of his work I ordered quite a few more from him. Can't get pics to work or I would show you some. My wife really liked him, and he made her a great looking DP for her birthday one year. Georgel was very nice, as were his whole family. Good people. Great knives that were seriously underpriced and still are. Don't know how he heat treated his blades, but some of mine are hard as rocks.
