I'm not sure if I should post this in the Tactics forums but I thought it would get maximum exposure here. While surfing, I came across this recent design by Mr. Lightfoot who, as I hear and read, is quite well-known for his distinctive designs.

I can't put my finger on it but, there's something that just screams TACTICAL about it; the blunt upper swedge for deep penetration coupled with a slight recurve for deeper cuts, then the exposed for butt for non-lethal or "punyo" strikes in Filipino martial arts. Also, probably a minor detail except for me, is that it looks like it doesn't have an "upward ramp" type of thumbrest which is so prevalent in most designs. For me though, this not only substantially increases grip strength but also adds to it's utility, such as when you need to extend your index finger for more precise cuts.

Any owners want to share their thoughts about it? Is it a liner lock? Does it feel "alive" in the hand?

Thanks!

Yep.. It is a liner lock. Nice looking knife. Looks like it might be illegal for carry in many states as it is sharpened on the top side it appears.

OOps.. Sorry I did not catch you were posting from the Philippines! I do not know the knife carry laws there. You should have access to the Butterfly knife there. This lock will not fail if made right. I have one handmade there with a 5 inch blade made of 1/8 inch stock.

Hey pogo!

Yup, got the old "bentenueve" (29), but it's usually a on "drawer duty" since it is illegal to carry for EDC.

Yipes..! Glad to hear from you. I guess its about the same carry laws the world over.

You could call and ask about that upper edge, have a feeling it might not be sharp (a false edge). Nice looking knife.

I am the Sergeant in charge of a Forensic Unit . I use my EDC regularly for cutting boxes that our supplies come in. On crime scenes I always find a use or need for a sharp edge. My biggest problem is deciding which knife to carry that day as my prominent EDC. I always have access to 2 or 3 knives. One in my pocket, on my key chain and hanging on my duty bag.

Greetings,
I had a Lightfoot CatchDog for awhile. It was a very nice folder. Pommel was exposed enough for striking with it, and the handle design was very secure in all grips, no worries of sliding onto the blade during hard use. The top swedge on the blade was not sharpened on mine, just heavily profiled to aid in stabbing. It was a liner lock, and the titanium liners were relatively thick, and the lock was very secure. I have had excellent experience with everything I've ever had from Lightfoot.
