does anyone have a g-saki sabi knife? or does anyone know anything about the quality of their stuff? all i can deduce from a bit of searching is that they are located in seki city japan and sometimes do work for spyderco sog and other companies.

i picked up one of these off the bay for 40 bucks. I figured it was the cheapest fixed blade i could find in h1 steel.

Interesting. A review is in order when you get one. I am liking the H1 stuff spyderco does, but like the looks of that bottom one.

Only Sakai knife that I have is a spyderco looking one with an LED in it. COol little knife that I've had around 15 years. Those are nice looking tho.

ok it came in today... I won it off ebay for 42 bucks...It would be the most comparable to a becker bk 11 in bladesize but the handle extends father... To me it will fit a niche for mostly food prep and small amounts of woodwork. The main draw to this blade for me was that it is h-1 steel is a fixed blade and it was under 50 bucks brand new.

although the core lock is a cool feature, I hate how it gets in the way of pack hip belts. Because of the high placement of the core lock this knife I think will go around my neck as a rustproof neck knife that I can use to prepare foods and to do small wood tasks. It has a pretty nice feel to it and after tomorrow i will be able to tell you how it performs overall.

i wanted to see just how well the edge will hold/ how rust proof it really is. Plus I always just like having things that are "waterproof"
