G-Shock problem and question

My G-Shock appears to have to have locked up in split time mode (which I wasn't using at the time). I put in a new battery thinking that might be the problem but it still displays the same screen as it did before the change. Is it toast or do any of you gadget guys know how to fix it (it isn't a high dollar model, so sending it for repair is probably a no-go)?

During a battery change in some G-Shocks (most of 'em?) you have to stick a little piece of metal (steel tweezers or a steel paperclip) somewhere in the "works" to jump-start the watch...Have you done that?...It's sort of a re-set.

search for g shock on this forum, in the last couple of weeks there was a question regarding battery change and a web site for instructions. it sounds like it needs to be reset. good luck, ahgar

I tried Glockman's advice and it worked. I think what worked was contacting a small screwdriver across both of the thin metal tabs that stick up from the watch guts. I turned the watch over and it was flashing the time/date for reset.
