So, I've been tearing through cheap watches here lately and I think I'm finally going to settle down and actually buy a nice watch. It seems like everyone loves the G-Shocks so that's what I'm going to go with. To start off, I don't want a $200 watch. Maybe $100 or even less if possible. I'd prefer to go with a military-style watch, because that's just what I like. Also, I'd like for the watch to be able to change between 12-hour format and 24-hour format because I use one at home, one at work.

Anyways, I started looking at the different ones from Casio G-Shock and I noticed they have several "military style" versions and I don't really know the difference between any of them. It seemed like the 300ML version seemed to be pretty basic and starter model. I saw other models though aswell, and I just want to make sure I get the most out of my money. I don't want to buy the basic model, yet there be another one with more features for the same price. I need you guys to help me out and point me in the right direction. Just a watch recommendation. It doesn't have to be one of the MS models, aslong as it doesn't have all the bright funky colors.

Thanks ahead of time, guys.

I have a mudman for about 3 years, no problems, waterproof, easy change for time zones and well under $100.

I have one of their military inspired watches, the DW5600MS-1. The difference between it and a "regular" DW5600, is that mine is all black, which includes the buttons (ion-plated), the band and case. The whole MS-1 series are equipped with light-on-dark digital display. The 5600 series are IMO one of the comfiest G-Shocks.

That being said, there are loads and loads of G-Shocks, which come in black colors. Ive got the DW-9052, which i recommed.

I recommend getting one with the Tough Solar and Waveceptor features. Other than that, pay close attention to the feature set and what's on the face. When I shopped mine I noticed some feature lists were almost identical- but the difference was important to me- a countdown timer versus a "memo" feature for example. Think about what information is most important to you to have on the "home" display, too.

They have so much variety that you can get pretty much whatever you want- as long as you know what that is!

PS. Mine is something over 5 or 6 years old and I'm very happy with it, especially for costing <$100

This is mine: ...on second thought I don't want to be guilty of "deal spotting" so just google gw-2310

It has the tough solar, multi-band wave-ceptor and is under $75. I chose this one because it shows me the day, date, and time without a lot of clutter and crap like so many of the g-shocks have. I love the tough solar, you never have to think about it. I also love the wave-ceptor, it depends on your area I guess but it works well enough here to update every few days and the time is always within a few seconds. I've only had mine a year but it still looks like new to me and I don't baby it.

I have the riseman and really like it. It has some fun features and I think it looks really nice. It is automatic and solar which is pretty important to me. Mine was 120 dollars or so. A little over your limit but I think you would be happy with it

Riseman on Amazon $128 delivered.

mine shows up in a few more days, will post review after I play with it for a month or so.
