OK, to begin with the "Well, Duh!" is directed at me - not someone else.

I have had several disk (rather than thumb stud) opening tactical folders. It always seems to me (and not only me) that the disk is always in not quite the right place in relation to the area dished out of the G10 for a good purchase for opening.

I have two right now that I felt that way about. A Benchmade Stryker and an Emerson SPECWAR.

Well, guess what? Tonight, a half-hour each with my dremil tool and some sandpaper and problem solved! Silly that I didn't think of it sooner. I did a good job on both of them too. Looks like a factory job. I'm totally happy with the results.

The only thing is that my work left that area of the G10 looking kind of white. How does the factory do it so it is black and blends with the rest of the G10 handle?

Typically, G10 has that white/hazey look after grinding and esp after bead blasting. Use some Breakfree, ,or another high quality gun oil ( rather than engine oil ), wipe on a little, and wipe off excess. That should bring the correct color to the G10. Hope that helps -- Charles

Sorry I can't answer your question, But I would like to see some pictures!!!

OK. I'll bring them to work tomorrow and scan them. Besides, a pick might help me get some answers.

I oiled the G10 of the Stryker so it LOOKS black for now. I won't oil the SPECWAR so people can see.

Really? That easy? I already oiled one with Breakfreee and it looks OK so far. I'll scan both and post.
