Can I make the spacer out of G10? will it be strong enough? I can make it out of steel if I have to, but with my tools, G10 would be much easier.
If it makes a difference, I will be using 3/32" music wire for the spring.
If I have to make it out of steel, should I silver solder the spring and spacer together?
Thanks alot.

Can anyone help me?
I'm asking about the peice in the butt of the handle that holds the spring in place against the lock bar. I read a book and wayne clay used micarta for his, but he was using a coil spring. Can I use 1/8" G10 for mine?

Matt, sure you can use G10. Lots of folks use micarta as the spacer. If you did want to use steel, I don't think you would want to solder the spring to the spacer.

Thanks alot. I'll use G10. I can cut it with either my scrollsaw or my bandsaw and get alot better fit up than if I use steel and try to grind it out with a dremel or file it by hand.
