Just wondering if FR-4 is the highest grade of G10 available (not just commercially, for custom as well). I'm not at all worried about cost; my knife? I'm going to go find Paul Hogan and make him be like O_O

For the combined factors of being lightweight, impervious to extreme climates, impact resistant, durable, and awesome (yes, awesome) is there anything better? Also, I'm wondering if it would be doable to have accurate, form-fitting finger grips made on a handle with this stuff. Yay? Nay?

Made a wood chisel out of a certain resin-bonded wood laminate years ago! I've never come across anything tougher as a handle material.

Well then... 'twould seem that G10 is indeed my ally ;D Thank you very much for the reply :)

FR-4 just means it is fire resistant. For knife handles, fire resistance should be a non-issue.

Other FR-4 properties are roughly the same as G10.
