Question for the Kershaw gurus here. I have seen some awesome looking Leeks with G10 handles that use non S30V steel. The S30V one seems to be the only G10 handled one in current production, does anyone know if Kershaw will be producing the G10 handle models with the current steel (13C26/14C28N)?

good question.....I'd like to know as well. I'm running out of G-10 Leeks to buy.

Welcome to the forum SJD1!

At this point, I don't think there are any plans announced for a G10 Leek in the near future in 14C28N. But with Kershaw, never say never.

Starting with knives made January 1, 14C28N will be found in all models currently fitted with 13C26.

morrowj_98, there are two nice ones on the auction site now. A bit overpriced, tho.

It was some of yours I was drolling over, would love to see these back in the current line up, or at least a limited prod'n run.

Thanks for the welcome. A shame about the G10 in production on the Leek. That is one sharp looking combo.

I don't now if you've used the S30V before, but its a great steel. Here's a link to the S30V, and if you don't have one, I'd give it a try!

I wasnt aware of a G10 that wasnt done in S30V...?
That may be the case, I am new to Kershaws so do not know for sure. I was thinking they were not like the current S30V model in that they were not the stonewashed finish, which I am not a fan of. I assumed it was another steel.

I think you might be correct on this J. I know the rare ones, 1660GTST, 1660CGTST, and 1660G10ST were all S30V. Good catch!

EDIT: You are correct morrowj_98. I'd love to find one of those...

The 1660CGT and CGTST were hollow ground satin finished S30V with G10 slabs.

Were the 1660CGT and CGTST limited production runs, or a line that was discontinued?

Limited runs, and discontinued. I believe the CGT was around 498, and the CGTST was 128.

Here's a link to the sticky at the top of the Kershaw sub page with more info...

Ive read a few places that the 1660CGT was 250 pieces, never seen one myself.

Im just happy to own a 1600PGT. Any polished G10 from Kershaw is getting harder and harder to locate.

Here's a quick scan of them. Sorry for the quality, but I have my scanner set for graphics, and don't feel like fooling with it right now.

Both of them are November 05.

Don't lose hope fellas...G10 Leeks are out there...

My Kershaws are all gone now, but during the course of my sale here on BF, I sold a 1660G10, a 1660PGT, a 1660CGT, a 1660CGTST and two 1660T1G10s.

All of these were acquired NIB for reasonable prices from that auction site we're all familiar with, so I guess the point is to keep one's eyes open both in the For Sale threads here on BF and in that other place...

Ray :)
