I bought a s110v manix a few months ago and I like it, but it never wowed me in terms of feel. I just got my first g10 manix2 today, and wow, it feels like a completely different knife - in a good way! The lock and action is better, it sounds better, and the feel in hand is much more balanced. Super impressed with this one!

Yep, those two are quite different...considering they are the same knife. I probably prefer the g10 but I do like them both for different reasons.

Looks like I am on the other end.

I just received a LW today and like it better than the G10

Lock up feels the same.

i think it has to be one of spyderco's best knifes ! i own #4 of them and loving all of them.

I just picked up a G10 Manix2 (S30V FFG) the other week and it hasn't left my pocket since.

Now that looks nice!
So does a Manix lightweight blade simply drop right into the G10 Manix handle?
How did you de-pin the lightweight to get it apart?

I don't think you actually need to de-pin the lightweight and take the handle apart. I think if you remove the pivot you can get the blade out.

Congrats! The G10 Manix is a wonderful blade. I like the LW as well but not nearly like the G10. Where's the pics?

I messed mine up because I was impatient. But you can carefully take the pivot out and you need to gently pry the handles apart or you have to drill the pins. I messed up on the gentle part and broke the frn handle.

I wasn't really happy with the LW version. Might have to give the G10 version a shot, even if it's just a catch and release.

Had I had an opportunity to hold both the G10 Manix and PM2 before buying, I'd have bought the Manix, without a doubt.

I'm digging my standard G10 Manix. Full liners, FFG S30V blade, satin finish, what's not to like?

Plus the BBL is something I never tried before.

The G10 is nice. I have one of the earlier 154c blades.

But recently a LW is king in my pocket.

So I suggest that you get both.

I feel the same way. The G10 version is my favorite work knife on weekends and the LW version is one of my favorites for weekday carry.
