Hey STR, would it be possible to make black g10 or carbon fiber scales for the Delica 4? Also have you ever done any polished G10 scales before like on the Buck Vantage Pro or Benchmade Torrent?

I appreciate your askin' but anytime I'd run into anything with nested liners it was always something requiring replacing the liners as well as the scales.

I never worked on either of the knives you mention that I recall but I see so many its possible they've been here for something at one point and I just didn't know the model. For what its worth I quit doing handle scale replacements and production knife rebuilds some time back. Been referring those jobs out to others doing those jobs. You might try Phil Dobson for that job. The D4 though is a tough one to do as are any of the knives with nested liners as I said. It takes CNC machining ability to duplicate those properly for the correct fit. I'm not saying that someone stubborn enough couldn't do it at least once using a manual mill and some end cutters but I can't imagine making it a habit. ;) You'd have to have one heck of a versatile table and some patience to do it that way.

What if the knife in question was already a G10 handled Delica? The liners aren't nested, If I recall correctly. That would be a much easier way to do it than starting with a Delica with an FRN handle.
