G10 or CF for a custom knife?

I'm ordering a custom framelock knife with half Ti and half either G10 or CF with no liners. If I go Cf it would cost me an extra $50 which I don't think is worth it. But it does look better to me. I do know that G10 is more durable though. With the G10 option I'm a little over budget already. How much more $ if I do decide to sell it would I get over G-10? Would a custom with CF be way more desirable on the secondary market? I also have the option of have FULL Ti on both side for no extra cost, but it would weigh too much for my liking. What should I do?

Thanks!

For the most part I just pick the one that suits the knife's purpose. If it's a light EDC, I go for carbon fiber. If it's for hard use, G10 makes more sense.

It's hard to say whether carbon fiber is more desirable in the secondary market, I guess it would depend on the type of carbon fiber.

What CF would be worth more on the secondary market??

Just going by the Spyderco Militarys I've held, I'd say I much prefer Carbon Fiber to G-10. It's more rigid and has a better feel IMO. Not to mention it looks better to me usually.

First off, which knife are you talking about? Second, do you want the material to be grippy or smooth. Third, how are you planning on using the knife?

Depending on the knife whether it is CF or G-10 is not going to make much difference in the price on the secondary market unless it is a specialty CF. Unless the CF is given a texture through some sort of process, it is smooth and flat so it offers little to no grip. I'd you're going to be using the knife with any fervor or in wet conditions then you may want to go the G-10 route. Basically, CF offers no advantage over G-10 except for looks
Some even disagree about that due to the different color combinations and effects that can be created with layered G-10

Ditto. I like both, but there is nothing quite like CF for good looks and tensile strength.

Personally, I would not pay a dime extra for CF on a used knife. In fact, I do not really care for it on new knives...that is the thing about personal preferences...everyone has one.

Buy what you like, and love it.
