G10 or Micarta Handle Scales for BK-9 / 7 etc......

Ok so I was thinking of getting some scales made for my BK-9 and I was thinking G10. I already have micarta. I can't really find any production ones out there. So I was thinking of getting a sheet of G10 probably coyote brown or FDE and getting some made.
The will be flat with rounded edges and possibly peel ply textured.
Do you think you guys would be interested in that?

Sounds like a good idea. Work them out and show us the results!

I like the G10 grips on my ESEE3. Grippy enough for practical use, but not too textured so they tear up my gloves or hands.
 
I have a few blades with G10 scales and I like the feel alot. I cant really compare them to micarta-ive never even touched micarta (how sad is that)
 
Yeah I'm gonna work on an idea. Just wanted to get some insight.

Right on. Yeah and G10 does not hold liquids like micarta so they are a better alternative for food prep. Easier to clean.

I like G10. It's some rough stuff to work with, but can be made grippy for choppers and really smooth for smaller knives and carving without hot spots.
 
Yeah so I am going to try and do some nice scales with some light textures.

I think it's a great idea. I've been wanting some flat G-10 Becker scales for awhile, especially for the tweeners.
 
Cool bro. I will works some stuff out and see when I could start it. I want to get a sheet of G10 and have it CNC'd so it will for sure take some planning.
