I vote Micarta, BUT is it cold or warm when it's been sitting alone for a while? G10 will feed cold. Micarta will be "warm" like wood. Another test is, wash it with some dish soap and warm water, and let the water get the handle nice and warm. Then dry it with a papertowel. If you see the surface slowly drying like cloth, it's micarta. G10 will not absorb any water. Water will sit on its surface and it will whipe dry. Also once done, put a hair dryer on it for 20 mins to make sure it's fully dry.

I'm going with G10, fiberglass netting used in G-10 has "threads" too.

I don't know if you know and want us to guess or if you want to know, but if you want to know then wet the scales, if they grip better they are Micarta, they will also absorb some water. G10 will grip the same or (likely) a little worse and not absorb water.

I think micarta as well at that magnification and polish level. But....since YOU KNOW....tell us! :)

Well... who was right?

Thinking that we're all right because if you use the type of logic which is common in liberal thought systems, the handle material is whatever it identifies itself as on a given day. So it's quite possible that yesterday it identified as micarta and today it chooses to identify itself as G-10. Who are we to determine it's makeup?
