On inspecting my G10 Police a little closer the other day, I noticed that it has only one steel liner and doesn't have the Boye dent. I am assuming that it's an older model, but just wanted to ask you Spyderholics about it.

Does anyone have an idea? Thanks for any info.

The G-10 Police does not have a Boye dent to the best of my knowledge. At least mine doesn't. Doesn't have a second steel liner either. No problemo. Use it like it does have two steel liners. Ya probably won't notice a difference. I don't.:D

Really, the second steel liner issue is not a biggie. At first it kinda freaked me out on my Starmate, Military and the G-10 Police model. Now I know better after using the daylights outta these knives. They are strong and tough users even without the other liner.

All the best,
Mike U.

Thanks, misque, I was just curious about this. I remember reading somewhere here in the forums that the last model version made of the G10 Police, before it was discontinued, had the Boye dent. Maybe I'm confusing it with another Spydie.

The last G-10 police *did* have the boyle locking dent. Shame that they stopped making 'em...

Yes, I believe they did have the DB dent towards the end of production.

Hey, regarding the liners it (G-10 Police) is a strong knife without ANY liners, as they came originally! My "old style" G-10 Police has no liners at all, and is just great. It is a bit lighter, and a bit thinner than my "newer style" G-10 Police w/ it's one liner and works beautifully. Whereas, with one liner it is brute strong.

Go ahead and use the hell out of that knife, and worry not!

My G10 Police has the dent and one liner.

Fit and finish on this knife is absolutely immaculate...not bad seeing as I picked it up from the store NIB for only $35...one of my finer knife purchases!!
