G10 questions

So I just ordered another TGLB. This time with black and tan G10 and I had a couple questions that I was hoping you guys could help me out with. I plan on stripping it and then blasting it. I did this with my other one that had black canvas handles and the blasting didn't hurt them. You think I could get away with doing the same thing to the G10 or should I mask them off? In the pics I see of g10 they almost look glossy. Is that just how they look in pics or are they really like that. Thinking that if I hit them with the blaster I may have to polish them out with some steel wool to make them look original but without actually having seen one in person, I don't know for sure.
