Ok, got a project for you guys. I have a Spyderco Caribbean that I absolutely love in every way except the hideous yellow. I get the reasoning behind it but it is just not me.
So I am looking to dye the scales with Rit dye. I’ve done this before so I’m good on the process. I’m just stuck on what color of dye to use that will take the yellow to an OD (olive drab) green. Any dye experts that can help me out? Thanks!

Rit dye isn't quite a roulette wheel, it's more of a nonsensical wormhole. Pink G10 and black dye make purple for instance, and the colors never come out quite like the box anyways. The rule of thumb I use is to aim for a few shades lighter, then see if a longer dip deepens the color to what I want. I think you would get a more knife-specific answer if you repost on the Spyderco subforum, there are some guys who post there who have done some good greens, or you could search that forum for their threads. My best guess would be to try blue dye to try and get to a green color, starting at green dye might take you to black before you get a green color through the yellow.

Thanks for the reply! I think I’ll try your suggestion.
