G10 Scale question

I made a new scale for my ZT 0550 out of G10 and it looks dull. What is the best way to finish it? I have seen other scales and they are finished looking. Is there something that is applied to them?

I have no knowledge of how they get it to have that semi gloss finish, but perhaps they are heating it somehow?

you can polish G10 or bead blast it

If I may add... it may be helpful to finish with a relatively high sandpaper before the oil treatment. 800 grit I'd think should do it.

I love G10. I wish it was more popular instead of micarta. I hate micarta. It absorbs everything.

I wonder if a heat gun would give it that shine?

I tried mineral oil once, it stayed too tacky even after wiping off the excess. I just use BreakFree now when they dry out.
