I saw a sebenza the other day with an orange G10 scale, and I was wondering if anyone makes G10 scales for the Sage 2. If anyone has any information on this it would be much appreciated.

or you could add G11. it's roughly twice as strong, and more mechanically stable than G10. it's super brutal stuff...i like it a lot!! :D

If you want to replace a Ti slab with G10, OK. A good suggestion would be to add a liner. I'd go to Phillip Dobson for that one.

I'm not sure a liner is completely necessary. I have Custom G10 scales for my Ti Military without liners and they have been working well for me since I got them a few months ago.

Just curious, have you ever seen G10 break ...as I knife handle?

Peter_r made it for me. good stuff. Don't know about the Sage 2 but you can PM him and find out. If he doesn't do them, maybe he knows someone else that does.
good luck

I haven't seen G10 break, but I have broken G11 in my hands (it wasn't a handle and I was being stupid), so who knows. According to the spec sheet, G11 (aka FR4) is an improvement over G10 in terms of high-temperature strength and fire-retardant properties. Seems about the same when fire and heat aren't involved.

i can do that. and g 10 is very very strong as a scale. i find people underestimate just how strong it is. and furthermore they seem to overestimate the strength required to support a good folder.

I believe I have seen Mick Strider say that G-10 is stronger without a liner and I am pretty sure most of his folders don't have a liner with the G-10 side. At least I know the SMF doesn't have a liner.
