G10 Scales question

I am getting a new RC-3 in the next two weeks, and I really like the orange G10 scales, but looking at some of the pictures, it appears that the scales are very smooth. I like the feel of my RC-4 and I'm worried that the G10 is too slick. Those of you that have them, is there a noticeable difference between the G10 and the canvas? Any help or knowledge on the subject would be appreciated.

Here goes, I just compared a RAT-7 with canvas micarta scales to a RC-4 with orange G10, wet and dry. The results were surprising, the micarta felt only slightly better dry and the G10s were definitely better wet.I have been very pleased with the G10 handles and wouldn't hesitate to purchase a G10 handled knife again.

Getting away from G10 for a moment, I can't help but notice the not so subtle differences between these two handles.
Quite a contrast regarding fit, finish and attention to detail.

Polarwolf21,

Where do you live? I live in Alaska and have had use with both Micarta and G-10. IMHO I wood take G-10 hands down. Whether your being rained on in the summer, or snowed on wearing gloves, I'd take the G-10. It's very weather resistant and durable, and I droped one of my Busse's from a height of 4-feet the other day by accident on a concret floor. It shocked me by not having a crack, chip, nothing. Rubbed my thumb on the end of the hilt and it's like I didn't drop it. Like I said IMHO, G-10 can't be beat!!!
