G10 Texture

I have a question that I'm sure one of you experienced knifemakers can answer. Today I went down to my local plastics dealer to buy some 3/16 G10 for scales and the stuff he had was slick on both sides. Is the stuff they put on the Spyderco's, REKAT's, and other knives bought special with a rough finish on one side or do they somehow process it to get that rough finish?

You can sand blast the scales at high pressure and it will give a good texture. Also, Les Halpern, http://www.halperntitanium.com

Thanks for the info. I think I'll order some G10 from Halpern today and also try AO blasting the G10 I already have.
