G10 too smooth...

I recently ordered some "jade ghost" (slightly translucent green) G10 from USA Knife Maker as I wanted to attempt making some scales for one of my folders. The last time I saw jade G10 was when I had a Spyderco Leafstorm. The Leafstorm had a slight texture to the G10 but the material that arrived from USA Knife Maker is smooth as glass... Is there a way to etch or otherwise rough this stuff up, or is there a source for the version that has a texture to it??

try to find the same color with peel ply texture. that's whats on your leafstorm. you cant ad this texture its applied when making the g10 sheet. you can get a slightly grippier finish via heavy bead blasting, this will slightly expose the fiberglass weave but itll still be quite smoother than peel ply.

Sounds like mcmaster g10 to a t. Sand blasting it can get you some grip, I've done it a lot but its no where near peel ply.
