To anyone that may know or have compared the 2, is there any real noticeable weight differences between a TGLB with canvas micarta handles vs one with G10? I have a TGLB with black canvas handles and am really wanting to get a 2nd with G10 and I know G10 is supposed to be a little heavier than micarta which is fine as I like heavy knives and while my canvas handled TGLB is plenty hefty, the weight feels pretty balanced and I was wondering if G10 makes the TGLB feel heavier towards the handle or does it still feel pretty balanced in hand.

They both feel pretty balanced, albeit the G10 is slightly heavier. The canvas handles are the best for user knives I reckon. I bit more grippy than G10.

I've only felt canvas, but I can't imagine I'd like any material better. Some of the colors of G10 are great, but I love canvas.

Thanks guys. I love the feel of canvas micarta and have no complaints about it. I'm pretty sure my next TGLB I'm gonna get G10 handles for it. Just wanted to see if the heavier weight of the G10 made much difference in the balance of the knife.

I have both and like both, I think the canvas is the most practical but black and tan G10 is just sooooooooooo pretty....!!!!!!!!!

I have handled a few and I really don't notice much of a difference between the two as far as weight.

I got canvas on mine. Love it.

Hey Rev, good to see you brother!

I just was weighing some for the site...

Weighed 3 canvas

black/black canvas 15.3 oz
sage/black canvas 15.6oz
sage/tan canvas 16.8 oz

2 g10

sage/B&B 16.2 oz
black/pumpkin 16.7 oz

and black paper

black/bp 15.9 oz
black/BP with yellow liner 16.3 oz

From what I can tell is that it can vary from knife to knife. The difference in lightest canvas vs lightest g10 shows g-10 is .90 oz heavier, but the heaviest canvas is .10 oz heavier than the heaviest g10.

Overall, doesnt seem to be a lot of difference. I think the norm can be expected with lightest to heaviest usually being in following order.... canvas, paper, g10

Interesting info. Thanks for posting that knife hunter.

I remember weighing both my canvas handled TGLB and my CS Trail Master on my friend's scale just to see the weight differences and my TGLB weighed 15.8 oz while the TM was an even 16 oz if I recall correctly. I remember being quite surprised as the TM felt at least a few ounces heavier but I think it was due to the TM being more blade heavy.
