g1013 grizzly sander

i just recently ordered this model,http://www.grizzly.com/products/item...emnumber=G1013 Combination Sander 1" x 42" Belt 8" Disc.
can anyone tell me if i made the right decision? i am not a knife maker i just wanted something simple besides my edgepro to sharpen my vast assortment of knives "especially the ones with a convex grind". i was going to order a kalamazoo but the shipping to my state costs as much as the unit itself. any input would be appreciated. thanks

several of the supply houses sell 1x42 leather belts. add buffing compound and you have a good final polish for your edge. the link didn't work, but a 1x42 is a nice little grinder for sharpening. another thought is don't count on their belts. try "barbkat" at ebay or somewhere like Supergrit or Industrial Abrasives.
