Hey Spyderco fans,

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me anything about the Delica with G2 steel. I was checking out the Spydercos at a local store and noticed a Delica with G2 steel but I can't find much about it on the internet.

I also noticed at the store a C05GS, a few Rookies, a Micarta Calypso Jr, and a J.D. Smith but I think the price is a little high for some of them.

Thanks,

Hi Kev,

Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

G-2 was another name for Gingami I. A good steel between AUS8 and ATS-34. .9 carbon. It is made by Hitachi. We havedn't used it in Delica's for probably 8 years. I surprized you found one.

If I were you I pick up the Rookies and Micarta Calypso Jr if they are around 50 or so.Both make EDC and are a little hard to find.

Thanks for the replies.

The only problem is the price. I live up in Alberta, Canada so the prices are a little more than if I had them shipped from the US. I forget what the Rookies were, but some others were:

G2 Delica - $75
AUS8 Calypso Jr. Micarta - $109
VG-10 J.D. Smith - $194
ATS-55 C05GS - $146
CPMS30V Native - $108
VG-10 Native - $78
Meerkat - $71
PE Merlin - $91

These are Canadian prices though so you'd have to multiply them by 0.79 to get US dollars. Like I said before their pretty high, but I might want to get the discontinued ones eventually.
