I stated earlier we would start shipping the G4s today.
I inspected the first ones, and have some QC concerns that need to be
cleared up before we ship them.
It's looking like another week +/-.
Keep looking here for updates.
Sorry for the bad news, but I'd rather have them right, then not.

Alright, I finally have an update.
After much back and forth w/ the factory, I am getting the parts to take care of the issue I had. As soon as the parts get here, I can take care of it.
I don't have any accurate time frame yet though.

I had more QC problems than originally thought, and ended up having to
deal with the factory a bit more than I wanted. Because of that, it will be
longer than I wanted.
As soon as I find out a more firm date from the factory on when they are going to take care of this, I will let everyone know.

And Chad, I will get one to you the day they come in, after I inspect them,
I promise.

I'm looking at the end of August to receive the G4s.

I was looking forward to this knife back in June. After CQ issues over and over again I think it's time to shelf this model for the year. When released............ we really have no idea what to expect. With prospects being on the negative side as far as customer confidence.

Just a consumer with a thought, who has seen this type of roll out before.
 
Terry, send me a PM when you've got a good one in your hands. Maybe I'll have to bop on over there and take a look at it (and perhaps take it home with me).:)
 
The warehouse manager just told me that the G4s will be airfreighted from the factory to us on 15SEP09.
That means I should get them at the end of that week.
I will have to check them before we ship, so the earliest shipping will be around the 18th-the 21st.

Since the 15th is my birthday any chance I can get a late b-day present? I'll be your bestest friend in the whole wide world.
 
Guess what came in today, 2 weeks early.
Guess what passed the QC tests today.
Guess what starts shipping tomorrow!

As of this afternoon, all backorders for G4s have been shipped.

Okay, so has anyone received one yet? I keep thinking there'll be a review or initial impressions post any day now. C'mon you guys! :D
 
Many, many thanks, Stickfighter2.:cool: A glowing review I would say. You cleared up two areas of moderate concern to me, as well. Those being the linerlock and the blade tip. I don't have a huge aversion to linerlocks, but they must be done well. It sounds like this one is. In the photos I've seen thus far, I was expecting the tip to be pretty thin and fragile, too. This doesn't seem to be a problem either. I will add a G4 to my "must-have" list. :cool::thumbup:
