Hello, With all of the heavy stuff going down lately, the retailors in almost all catagorys have drastically cut prices. This includes all catagorys of sporting goods Guns and Knives and a huge amount of other stuff. Bamboo fly rods, graphite ones, reels and all of these things are the top end stuff. The companys that have not cut their prices yet may do so if the economy does not flatten out from its downward trend. I look for more great deals as the holiday season approaches.
They want to get consumers spending and this is one way to help the consumer. Custom makers of sporting good products have not followed suit yet. But I think they might......;)

I forgot to mention that most of these items are considered luxury goods (sporting stuff, hunting stuff, fishing stuff, golfing etc.) Or at least goods that are not considered essential. So that may affect the prices too. JC

Don't be SO happy about this - the technical term is deflation, and it's one of the WORST things that can happen in an economy, particularly if you have any debt (Like a mortgage). You end up in a situation like Japan has been in for the last 10 years - the economy STOPS, because no one will spend anything, because everything will just get cheaper. You can't get people to borrow money to do big projects because you would have to charge a NEGATIVE interest rate (for the fed to "Bump" the economy by lowering rates, they have to be below the current inflation rate - if the inflation rate is 0 or below...)
