My grandmother past away a couple months ago and while going through her house I spotted an old axe. The head was dinged and chipped bad as well as the handle which had circ saw cuts on it. I took it and set to bring some new life into it. I cleaned the head, removed dings and replaced the handle which I sanded added a few coats of watts oil. So I got $10 bucks into it and a handfull hours of labor. I need to figure out a leather sheath for it yet.

Thanks. I don't know about an heirloom - eh maybe but it will do nicely on camping trips. Something a little different

I don't know who made the artisans but they were nice axes. I got a larger artisan hatchet with a 17 inch handle that cuts and holds an edge good. Good job on yours.

Thanks halfaxe. Can't wait to put it to use!

I sewed up a head cover with some leather I had laying around. I think it will do a fine job of protecting things from the hatchet's edge
