Hi All,
First post here. Hoping to get some feedback from owners of the new Game Warden 2.
I have a just a few knives, all of which I use, mostly outdoors - hunting, camping, fishing, hiking... Most are either shorter or longer than the 4" blade of the warden.
Any thoughts from those who have one on the usefulness of this knife as a kind of "outdoor edc" general purpose blade?
I think my biggest question is regarding the grip size. I wear a L or XL glove depending on brand, and small / short grips are not comfortable to me. Is the grip of the warden 2 a little thicker than the grip on the duty or is that just an illusion from the pics?
Just as a reference, I typically carry a Dozier k-29 hunting and find the handle comfortable. My one Busse is a BATAC with snakeskin handle that I love.
Thanks!

Welcome to the rabbit hole...I mean forums. 😅
I've had both the GW2 and the BATAC and imo the BATAC was a better fit for me. I have xl hands and the GW2, as neat as it was, was a smidge to small for me. I wanted to like it, but once you pick up a knife you either get that yep or nope feeling and it had the nope feeling for me. I've previously had the RadioActive Duty and the handles are very similar.
Personally, I gravitated towards the SYKCO WS-621 which had that similar drop.point profile.

The models are so close, the easiest way to describe a GW2 to a RAD is quite simply to call the GW2 a bobtailed RAD. There are other slight differences- blade profile & length (handle thickness is the same), but it's the pommel that is the largest variance to the eye.
If you expect to use the knife tip with the pommel locked into your palm a decent amount or with a good amount of pressure, get the GW2. Otherwise, either is a good stout daily 👍👍
I have medium hand, L fingers & I can put all 4 on the GW2 & still see through the lowest tube fastener, & the edge of my palm lines up with the same tube fastener.

Ended up with a custom shop warden 2. What a great knife! Any suggestions on a good leather sheath maker who has the knife so I won't have to send him mine? I may get a kydex as well, but the knife kinda deserves nice leather... it's sharp too, poked right through the danny the bull sheath I ordered with it :)

I'm thinking of that too, don't know if kydex would wear on the stabilized wood scales over time??? Any thoughts?
If made correctly it will not wear them at all.
One thing though the custom shop scales can and do vary so it would be best to send that particular one in.
I could make it with the one I have in house but it would be a total gamble on whether it fit perfectly.
