Is anyone carrying their GW in pocket. I've been window shopping for a new pocketknife for my 40th. Since Jerry hasn't seen fit to release the folder, I've looked at many other makes. Since I found Busse, I've become a little more picky. The only folders I find that I like are either out of my price range or questionable as to how long I can make it last. The GW looks like an awesome alternative. Consider that I've carried my ST Ripper in the front pocket of my 501s while camping without too much discomfort. But I want to hear/read what you folks are doing for pocketcarry.
Thanks, Mike

Both pocket carry and on-the-belt. Probably more in the pocket than anywhere else...

I am!

I am using an in the pocket sheath of my own construction. I actually made it to house my Heavy Duty but the GW fits in just fine.

It really is a great way to carry it. The sheath sits in the corner of my pocket and you hardly know it's there.

Not a great picture cause you can't see the back clip but this is what I use.

I've been carrying my GW in the factory leather sheath in the front pocket
of my pants with no problem.:D

I carry mine in a homemade kydex sheath in my work uniform. It's great for wire stripping as well.

I'll have one at Blade West for you to handle, Skunk might even have some for sale! I'll have a couple of folders (not Busse) to show also.

:D

Sweet! Tell me more! :D And dont hide that pretty behind a knife. ;) Leather weight, thread, howd you drill the holes? It looks great! Keep it up!

That does look like a great sheath Heavy!!!

Certainly doesn't look like your first piece... how long you been working with leather?

Thanks fellas :D I been bending cow for maybe 2 years. Just a hobby. Unless Leatherman has an opening...;)

Um...8-9 oz leather. Holes drilled with a pindrill one....by one.... :thumbdn: It takes a long time but I only do sheaths for me so I don't mind. Locksticked with waxed linen thread.

What you are looking at is the part of the sheath that is against your leg. Nice and smooth so it won't irritate. The other side has a money clip type clip on it. it hooks over your pocket and locks down tight.

My GM sticks out about 1/2" or so.

:D

Once again very well done.

Well that's funny. I have excacty 1oz of talent and I'm not doing so bad.

just takes patience....

sorry for the thread hijack Mob...:(

Back on subject. In the last year or so I have stopped carrying folders at all and have carried fixed everywhere I go.

I thought the HD was perfect for this but then the GW comes along and it's got the HD beat.

I sure would like to see more pictures of that one. :D

Cool sheath Heavy !

I've been using my BB kydex w/o the tekloc for pocket carry, I've thought about using it as a neck knife.

problem has been, what to do with the sheath once the knife is out, I keep setting it down in stupid places and then have to find it. :o

Everything works a little better on my belt.

I have thought about carrying it in my pocket but I would like to have it secure to the pocket. Im afraid of it falling out or cuting my self or the sheath if i bend or lean on it when sitting. If you had the right sheath it wouldnt be too bad but to pull it out take off sheath is alot more than just uncliping a folder. I love Busse but I only carry them when camping/hiking. I cant stand carring a fixed blade around doing everyday chores and specally driving.

and after reading jimmys post i also loose things when i set them down like a sheath and im not thinking!

Right. This sheath does grab your pocket good and so it is just like pulling it out of a belt sheath.

I have more pics at home that I will post tonight.

you can see the back of it in this pic...sorry about the rats...The leather sheath above the Rat Tail is the same setup. Works great.

ok one more thing and then I'll stop. You can see in this pic a sheath i made for my Desert Jack. The idea was that since it was riding around in my briefcase it didn't need a full sheath...just a muzzel. Same idea would work great with a little one like the GW...

I put mine in a bandicoot leather sheath, it fits pretty good actually and rides really low in it. I EDC mine on my belt.

Thanks everybody! Good feedback, and I think it's settled for me.
Heavy, don't ever sweat a switch in discussion in a thread I start. I'm A.D.D., and even medicated I can change direction in conversation faster than just about anyone I've ever met. Besides, a worthwhile topic, a fellow forumites hidden talent coming to light. Nice leatherwork, now show us more. :D
