is the skeleton warden, the same as any other warden w/o the handle material?

if the handle/grip materials where removed from any game warden, would it result in a skeleton warden?

No, a GW with the handle removed will be solid with three holes for the tube fasteners.

Randucci has a thread here somewhere, where he put handle slabs on a Skelly, the opposite of what your asking but shows the differences.

The tang of the skeleton warden is... skeletonized. Most of it's cut out to leave a frame. The regular GW is solid except for the holes for the fasteners.

I've been told and i know it to be true on my wardens that the skelly is thinner than most game wardens.G.M

The black and muddy Skeleton Wardens were close to .200 thick.

There were many Game Wardens that were .140 and .170 thick (early offerings), the later model Wardens were generally much thicker.

.

My warden , a 2007 Special Edition is .27 thick,,,,,a railroad spike basically ,,,,,,, it's the one on the far right,,,,,,next to the HOGFSH which is .33 thick. The GW's were made in many different configurations , for peoples many different tastes
