No it does not came with the sheath, but it is easy to get one or even easier and more pleasant to make one youself.

To me Game Warden is best Busse knife, at least from what I have. It is quite comfortable in hand so I found myself addicted to use one of four I have. Kind of looking for any excuse to hold it in hand.

I guess it is some magic combination of weight, balance, shape, thickness and G10 surface, which makes it pleasant to handle.

Steel is holding working edge for a long time. You see my steel testing tables. And it was proven by Jerry cutting manila rope thousands times.

Thanks, Vassili.

Nozh.
Who's put'n those wide edges on fer ya? They look SHARP! Thanks.

Vassili is right; they just feel great in the hand. Very solid feel to them...like a little tank.

I very strongly recommend the Game Warden. It's 3 inches of pure utility and performance. The only thing that would make the knife any better than it already is on its class is taking away that choil and replacing that with proper cutting edge. The GW is relatively light, tough as nails and just plain works. Great knife. If you're out to buy one, Busse Company Store is selling them right now, and they also have sheaths available.

It was me. Factory edge was not as great as knife - but do not expect good sharpness from Busse out of the box, this is well known fact. However, to be precise sometimes they do sharpen knives pretty good.

But on that knives it was dull and very thick initially, like they over sharpen it several times and when I bring it to 15-15 it starts looking even wider (and toke some effort on DMT D8XX). But on satin finished GameWardens initiall edge was way better - it was even duller but not too thick and so easy to fix.

Actually Game Warden was first knife which I was able to sharpen to hair splitting sharpness.

Thanks, Vassili.

I love the wardens. I have 3 of them and they have become among my favorite knives. They are the most useful Busse's for me at the moment- since I live in a city where blade length is restricted to 3" and under. The game warden is literally the most blade I can legally carry.

You won't be disappointed if you buy one! As has been mentioned above, they are little tanks. They are also very non-threatening knives, and can be used anywhere without causing alarm. Once you get them to a good edge (they tend to ship a bit on the dull side) they keep their edge a good long time. With a warden, you'll find yourself cutting things and doing things you would never imagine doing with another knife, let alone one that costs so much. And the knife will smile and ask for more. The only things I don't like about the wardens are that some of them are coated (easily fixed), some of them are too thick to be good slicers, and the really thick ones are too heavy to carry comfortably. That said, I edc an OJ warden (thin satin with orange G10) and I love it more every day.

If you can find a thinner warden, I say go for it! But be warned, and this is NO JOKE- Busse's are highly addictive. You hear this all the time for good reason. Once you have one, it will start inviting its friends, and you'll find yourself flat broke within a year, or less. Happened to me.

I don't know about where you live, but here (Atlanta) the blade limit is 3", regardless of who you are. In most of the United States, I don't think age matters much. Though some places like to give kids a hard time.

And for me, anything over than 0.2" on a warden is too thick. The thinner the better, as in the 0.14" OJs or the Bad Wardens. Specifically, the fatties, like the blue/ black G10 and black/tan G10 wardens in Vassily's pics above, are too thick. I can't remember the precise thickness, but I think they're .0.25" at least. I have one and it's cool, but simply too thick and heavy to be practical IMO. There is a huge difference in slicing ability between the thick and thin models. And the fatter ones seem to be almost twice as heavy.

Many of the wardens will need to be reprofiled to get anywhere near a standard sharpening angle (again, see Vassily's pics above). I bet he can tell you the angle. I don't bother with it myself, I simply walk across the street and have a professional do it for me. My sharpening technique sucks.

I think that the fat wardens were 0.22". Go to www.bussecollector.com for spec info on the various wardens. If you can find an OJ warden, snp it up. I got one and it is great.

I ordered one of the black/blue G10 fatties from the Company Store and it arrived with a sheath from Rainwalker a week and a bit ago (haven't taken pics yet). At first I didn't like it at all and was contemplating selling it but after a few days of carry it started to grow on me. I had thought it would be too thick to be useful but it slices quite fine in the kitchen and is an absolute tank for heavier work too. Now, a week and a bit on, its quickly becoming one of my favourite knives. The Wardens are a great design and well worth picking up.

I'd get a game warden if it had a 10 inch blade:thumbup:

WOOOOOOOOW youve got alot of wardens :eek:you should give me one:).not to be a bring down but why so many. By the way there really nice:thumbup:

Ya i think ill likt the .22 most because i like the way it looks and how it looks when it gets in the handle. dose it really sacrifice the cutting potintal and cant you just sharpen it to cut better?

Do remember that we have some real wizards around BF, who can thin out any knife -- even a Busse. I'm taking about folks like Bill Siegle, Tom Krein, the inimitable Ban and Randucci ... and others, as well.

Blood_Grooves,
The Warden is a great every day knife. Right size, right weight, cutting machine.

Vassili,
Love the sheath! One of your best decorating jobs, imo.

All kidding aside, Vassili is very artistic with his sheaths!
