here's a couple of pics of the Busse Store's sheaths made by Leatherman.

the darker one is the one i have been using and has been whetted and boned with the blade in it. after drying in the sun i removed the knife and let totally dry on my computer monitor.

i coated it with pure beeswax and used a hair dryer to help melt it in to the leather.

the other lighter scabbard is how they come straight from the Busse Store.

Leatherman can also make you any style you choose AFTER HE FINISHES MINE!!!!

also, use cold water till well saturated, coat the exposed steel of your blade with a quality gun oil before putting in wet scabbard, bone and let half dry, carefully remove knife trying not to mess up your bone job, then let dry on puter monitor, then wax on, wacx off.

edited to get rid of the wac off and change to wax off

Is that last step absolutely necessary?

Here's another pic of the sheath. Mine has been treated with Sno-Seal.

Skunk said "bone job" and "wac off."

I think we know where you're coming from, Skunk.

This sheath is also a great fit for a heavy duty if you haven't gotten pants for one yet! Handle extends out a little more so is somewhat of a high ride but the bottom of this sheath is almost a better fit for the Heavy Duty IMO. A great sheath for either knife

Nice work on the sheath
Thanks for sharing the picture! Did you also do something to the handle of that GW?

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly does it mean to "bone" the sheath?

Seriously.

Is it just a matter of pressing it into the form of the knife, or what?

using a "bone" to Bone the sheath is boning. A bone is the ustensil used for boning. This bone is like a burnisher. It is designed to make folds and creases. They are traditionally made from bone. search for "bone folders" to find bones.
You can use various objects to bone with, but it has been said nothing feels like or works as well as a real bone bone when boning.

or you could use the cap end of a sharpie marker pen. caution!

the "bone" has to be polished and very smooth so you don't mar the leather.

Nah, no oil or anything. It was probably just low lighting when I took the pic.

All this talk of boning makes me want to get myself a boner and start boning.
