Game Warden values

So- I am getting to that point in my knife obsession that Busse's are now what I covet. I probably have to start off slow, and I am more of a outdoorsy, minimalist backpacker/camper dude, so of course, the Game Warden seems like a good start. What I don't get is the crazy fluctuation in values. I just saw a fat one go for 200...I am cool with that. The, there is a fat one on Ebay that is up to 810, and still climbing. Can somoeone clue me into why the prices vary so much? They are all INFI, right? The fat ones over .25 seem to be more sought after, but wow.

The fat .27" and the thin .14" are the hardest to find and the most expensive. There are many color and size variations in between. You have to think about how and what your going to do with the knife. I have a sage and black .22" that I love, but I'm still looking for both a good deal on a .27" and a .14". They get snapped up quickly on the exchange.

Good luck. The Warden is a Busse Must-Have.
A Cultie might hold you over but the Cultie is a Must-Have too.

There is something very fishy going on there. You should be able to find the vast majority of GW's priced at $230.00 and less. That spectacle on ebay is pathetic, drooling morons.:barf::D BTW, I am the only one in possession of such a valuable GW... this sucka is worth $1500.00!!!:eek:Give or take $1250.00.:D

That one on ebay has something fishy going on. So just ignore you saw that one for a price referance...No way will anyone pay that.

There are plenty of GW's around, And You can get almost any for $300 or much less(except the .140 GL) if you keep an eye on the exchange.

I don't have any I'm selling but know some Hogs that have plenty to sale...if you don't find one at a good price in the next week shoot me an email and I'll give you someone to get in touch with.

Thanks, guys. I thought that was a bit crazy. My only Busse family knife is a 4" Hairy Carry, which is a great knife, but I want to try the INFI steel in a stout little tank of a knife. I guess another question I have is how difficult is INFI to sharpen compared to 154CM or SR101?

On another note....would the Active Duty be a comparable option? I see new one's at the Busse Store in colored G-10. Comparing the two, it seems like length and blade width are the biggest differences. It may be too similar to the HC, which is why I haven't gone that route yet.

INFI is not hard to sharpen at all.
The AD would be a great choice. Good luck.

BUY an skinny AD, its different in handle, blade legth thickness from a fat GW but its very functional in feel and use. Its thinner blade makes it slice well and its a hardened a bit harder than normal INFI blades meaning its a better edge holder. Again it wont replace an GW but its one of those knives that if your wanting an smaller knife that will do alot you cant go wrong with. I have found that my skinny AD is a bit harder to sharpen due to well it being harder rockwell but it gets screamin sharp and cuts very well. I dont have a HC so I cant say how similar it is, I just know I have several AD's and to me they are great little knives.

GW's come up frequently on the exchange in varying thicknesses, I have multiple GW's and the fatty is surely a keeper. To me though even with the better edge I put on it, it still cant slice very well. If your lookin for an edc to carry and do alot of slicing and not much prying the thinner route would be your better option imo.

IMO SR101 seems a bit harder too sharpen than INFI, INFI is the easiest steel I have ever had the pleasure of sharpening.:D

if it's legit, that guy just got the deal of a lifetime on his knife. I'll take a 300% profit on a knife without any complaint. I generally lose money on my knife sales.
