I Love The Active Duty And Do Not Own A Single Game Warden, However A Trade Has Worked Out And I Will Be Getting A Gw, Can Someone Post Pics Of A Gw Next To A Active Duty..... Or Give Your Opinions On The Two?

I have both and the GW to me screams "always have me in your hand". The AD although a bit larger doesn't have that comefy feeling in your hand. The GW also fits into your pocket better than the AD so makes a better EDC in my opinion.

I posted this awhile back, but can't find the link, soooo we do it again. Basic size comparison. The GW is almost an AD (HD) with a little taken off on both ends. Hope this helps.

I have a large hand so the AD fills it a little better plus I like the overall feel of the more robust HD.

I am torn bettween the two because they are so somparable. The GW just seems a tad bit more compact but they both fit my hand equally well.
The only thing the AD has on the GW is a slightly longer, narrow tip for beer cap removal. The GW tip profile is a little blunt for this kind of procedure so the neck grab spine lift* seems to be the only option;)

I currently EDC an AD and am planning on sending one of my GWs in for some IWB pants so I can alternate between the two knives:D

*I'll post a tutorial this weekend

They are certainly both highly desirable EDC knives. IMO, the only advantage the AD has is its profile. The GW is shorter, thinner, wider and fits my hand better. It also lacks the superfluous tail.

If I were going to look into a Custom Shop EDC, it would probably be something along the lines of an anorexic, tail-less AD with a full-height grind or a slightly re-profiled GW, maybe 0.10" at the spine.

There's definitely something about the GW's.... Once you have one, they just seem to breed.

VTW -- I'll add my voice. The GW just fits the hand so well.

After the first one, I found I had to have a few more. That's a good sign.

So -- EDC your first one for a few days, then let us know what you think.

It used to be that you could pop off caps with just about metal object having a flat edge. Back in the day, the gate flange of a carabiner was the method of choice.

I've had so many modern bottles fail at the lip that I never do this anymore. Homie ain't interested in drinkin' no glass.

On a road trip last year, I found myself back at the hotel room with two left-over beers and no opener. Out came the 'benza. Popped off the first one, and the entire lip sheared off the top of the bottle. Down the sink. Popped off the second one - exact same result. Oh well.

I've had both (a couple of times  ). I ended up with the GW. The AD just didn't see any use, mostly because i have a LrMS that beat it out... I liked the AD, but for my needs the LrMS for a "biggger" edc, and the GW for a "sheeple" edc was the way to go.

Bravado is right about the HD too. If you've not felt one, it just fills your hand so much more than the AD.

Here are some photos showing both knives along with some others. I like both the AD & GW but if you gave me an AD handle with an 3/4 inch longer GW blade then I'd like that best of ALL.

here is a GW then a AD and then a knife I wish Busse would make.

The ACTIVE WARDEN. I like it!

But it should have a straighter spine like the Badger. Maybe more of a Mini Badger that a big Warden.

But this is very self-centered as something like a badger design with a 3.75 inch blade, kind of thick for hard use, would be all the knife I’d ever wish for on my style of a wilderness trip. Or you could say it would be a MS with a wider more of a skinner type blade.

I have a feeling we're eventually going to see something like this.

Bottom two...

Exactly my thoughts! Except I had an HD. The GW handle is perfect for my small hand. HD handle was not that perfect, although it was very good. I think GWs are addictive...
