so for you hogs that have both which do you prefer for edc and other smaller knife chores? any comparison pics would be nice also. I have a heavy duty AD and love it but cant get the warden out of my mind.:o thanks

Don't have either, but have handled both. I preferred the AD due to size and comfort for my big hands. The GW is great as well, but between the two I would chose the AD simply out of preference and taste.

Here's some size comparison shots I did long ago, might help. Knife on the bottom is a Heavy Duty

I'm not at home so can't get to my pics I have there on the home comp. BUT Ihave and use both. If I am EDC around town, werever cutting tape/cardboard/cord you know junk in general, I like the GW. The AD for me is more of an EDC if I'm leaving the house to go out driving (4-wheeling)/picnic/hunting/camping you know outdoor stuff. That's about the best way for me to say what would the difference be. Like both VERY much. GET BOTH!!!

Nice Mil set there JJ!!!

Thanks Russ, got a set in black too :D

I agree with you, the GW is more sheeple friendly, better for round town, the AD is a great trail EDC pared with a larger blade. The GW has more belly, the AD is pointier.

nice pics guys, the AD handle is really nice in my hands. wish I could hold one before buying one.

I had and used both extensively. I kept a BAD, and sold the GW. Really, about the only reason was the slicing ability was so much better with the BAD than the thicker GW I had. .22 pumpkin warden.

I had taken the edge much thinner with a blended convex on the GW, so it was no slouch. Just not so great on the fruits and veggies like the AD is.

If I had more money, I would have kept the GW, but INFI in INFI out as they say.

I love the round butt handle on the game warden. They make up 75% of my edc rotation.

Like others have said, the GW is a great in-town EDC, while the Active Duty has the advantage as a weekend EDC for the shop, garden, dayhikes. I prefer the AD/HD grip (one of the best made) slightly over the GW, but both are comfortable.
Since you have an HD, I'd recommend you add one of the thin .140 GWs or even a .125 Culti to compliment it. Of course, if you really prefer the AD/HD grip, there's always a .125 BAD.
