So.....
for all of you lucky Game Warden owners....
What's better, and why.... The GW.... AD or even Leaner, or Meaner, just to throw it in the mix.
Whadaya think? Size? Handles? Shape?........
(lunatic enquiring minds want to know!)

I love my GW. I carry it everyday. Holds an ungodly edge and has performed way above the call of duty. Actually the handle is very comfortable, it feels good in the hand, has a good weight and shape. I think I have done about all you could want to do with it, from skinning and butchering to field work and alot of work in my field of electricity and concrete plants. I am going to get another one, one of these days when the cash flow and store permit.

I have a GW and an HD, a thicker version of the AD. Even though both are on the small side, the AD/HD is actually very different IMHO. The GW is a thin, compact slicer with a small but comfortable handle and is actually small enough that I can carry it in a sheath in the pocket of my Carharts. Blade is 3 Inches and broad so it really is primarily a tough little razor.

AD/HD is much pointier and is 3 1/2 inches long. Compact, but not nearly as much as the GW, it really is a little "big" blade, and except for chopping, can substitute for a much larger blade when you don't want to carry a 6 or 7 inch knife.

They really don't substitute for each other and I'll keep both of 'em.

The Game Warden is the perfect little slicer!
I do not have an AD:grumpy:
I do however have a Bad Warden! This thing is PERFECT for pocket/ streamlined carrying! The only problem is I can't bring myself to use it yet because it is so nice. The GWLE easily can be pocket carried but the Bad Warden can be used as a thick bookmarker (probably not good for the book).
If anyone wants to send me an AD I will gladly conduct a field comparison of them all (it may take me several months, possibly longer)

I have both the HD and GW. Both knifes are excellent. The GW can completely disappear in the front pocket of my jeans, while the top of the HD handle is exposed when in my jeans. The HD is like a sharpened railroad spike, I love it. It could probably open a car hood like a can of soup. Both are great, but with different feels. When I use the GW, it feels like a opened folder on roids. When holding the HD there is no mistake you are holding a serious piece of metal that could tackle any challenge. Two thumbs up for both   !

For those of us who'd rather use something other than an EDC knife for automotive bodywork, the GW LE is by far the most utilitarian offering yet to come from the Busse shop - at least that I've seen. It actually has a blade geometry that could reasonably be used to cut things, as opposed to being beaten through boilerplate or concrete.

The Leaner Meaner is a nice knife, but it has more of a weapon than tool feel.

For a small, brute EDC, I like the original recipe LMS.

I don't own an AD, but my guess is that the relatively obtuse primary grind puts it behind the GW LE in terms of practical EDC. It does have a nice, pointy profile, though.

I have to agree with tsiloics.

I have a MrS and the GW, and the MrS has more of a weapon look to it as well as feel. Bringing the MrS out gets lots of people to open their eyes wide while the GW looks and feels like a standard folder in the open position and hardly anyone bats an eye. My experience has been that most people accept a larger folder than a straight blade especially if the straight blade has a "weapon" look to it. However there are appropriate places to bring any knife.

GEE!!!! Thanks for nuttin!!!!

I love my AD, but seeing the blade shape of the GW now makes me crazy. I just love those small broad skinner/slicer shapes, like the SRKW Howling Rat and the Badgers. Larger I know, but you get the idea.

Luckily, my wife can't access my paypal account.

No, no, no! That would be the OD, the Off Duty. Shown below with some of its more anorexic sisters:

BW 0.165"
OD 0.375" (!)
AD 0.155"
GW 0.145"
